With integrated dual Cortex-A7 and Cortex-M4, graphics, communication and real-time control are all on one chip.

The compact design makes the product suitable for many baseboard designs. The STM32MP157 offers sufficient computing and graphics power for complex visualization and Internet communication applications as well as control tasks in mechanical engineering and device technology. Based on the pre-installed embedded Linux operating system, the Cortex-A7 Dual Core provides visualization services such as the display of web content.

The integrated Cortex-M4 offers microcontroller technologies for industrial measurement and control technology. As it is a solderable module, there are no costs for connectors on the module and the underlying baseboard. The long-term availability is ten years. The Kontron SOM is equipped with 256 MB DDR3 RAM, 2 MB NOR flash and 256 MB NAND flash as standard. It has two 10/100 Mbit/s Ethernet interfaces, two USB 2.0 ports, up to eight UART ports and up to two CAN ports.

A DSI port and an RGB interface are available for connecting displays. The module is powered via a 3.3 V connection. It can be used at temperatures between 0 and 70 °C. Versions for the extended industrial temperature range are available as an option.
