Ethernet safety I/O modules
Control safety applications directly from the field
Turck is expanding its range of safe I/O components with the TBPN block I/O modules for Profisafe and TBIP for CIP Safety. The robust IP67 modules bring safe input and output signals directly from the field to the safety controller.
Alternatively, the modules can also be used as decentralized safety controllers in the field. This function optimizes modular machines and also applications in which long bus cycle times to the central controller would require increased safety distances. In addition, safety functions can be tested offline with the local safety controller function before the machine or machine module communicates with a central controller. In combination with the dedicated web server, commissioning is accelerated.
The new block I/O devices provide four safe inputs and four universal inputs or outputs (FDX) in the field. The flexibility of the FDX ports in particular means that the individual safety signal requirements of each application can be optimally mapped. The modules can be used for applications up to PL e, category 4, in safety-related circuits up to SILCL 3. Two amps are available per output for actuators, with a total of up to nine amps per module. With IP65/IP67/IP69K protection and an extended operating temperature range of minus 40 to 70 degrees Celsius, the fully encapsulated block modules can withstand even the harshest environments. as
