Device analysis via Airlink

Becker analyzes sensor values in the pump

With Airlink, Becker has developed a solution with which sensor values from pumps and compressors can be analyzed directly in the component. This provides the operator with maintenance information in real time.

Modern production plants have a large number of components whose unrestricted availability is essential for optimum process control. However, monitoring them using condition monitoring methods and generating lots of data is not enough. It is better to analyze this data directly in the component and provide the operator with relevant information via various communication levels. This is exactly what the Wuppertal-based company Becker wants to achieve with Airlink.

Information available at any location
What is the current operating point of the compressor? What maintenance is required in what period of time and what spare parts are needed? If this information is available in real time, the overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) can be increased by optimizing process sequences and implementing condition-based maintenance and repair measures. To this end, Airlink should permanently record and evaluate the operating states and conditions and provide the relevant information via standardized protocols for any platforms and clients, such as mobile devices, ERP systems or platform solutions.

"Thanks to the simple digital integration of a Becker pump into the machine, the control station, the company network or a platform solution, it provides precisely the information that our customers need for reliable operation," says Stefan Beierlein, Product Manager at Becker, describing the benefits of the new offering. as
