Acceed expands IIoT software service
Acceed wants to expand its customer service activities. The Düsseldorf-based distributor of network communication hardware is to expand its current range of services to include project-specific software development.
The new focus on project-specific software development is primarily intended to accelerate system availability and operational readiness for the customer without burdening the customer's resources. In addition to the compatibility of data protocols and interfaces, the selection and configuration of the software is important for the interaction of individual components in intelligent industrial networks.
Put simply, the software ultimately decides when and how which data leads to which actions. In other words: The intelligence in the interactive communication of components in the world of Industry 4.0 is created through intelligent programming. As a distributor, Acceed pays attention to the greatest possible mutual benefit and optimum interaction with regard to the expected functions when selecting the hardware it offers. It does not necessarily have to be components from a single manufacturer that contribute best to the solution.
Aceed uses its advantage as a distributor of different manufacturers to combine the leading developments in the respective field. With this in mind, the experts at Aceed are also on hand to provide advice and are now strengthening the range of software development and software-supported configuration of systems and system components. In the simplest case, device-specific snippets can be provided immediately for integration into existing communication structures.
In the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT), the number of networked devices is increasing rapidly. Sensors and other data collection devices, such as cameras, are often spontaneously connected to the existing network. This has advantages when it comes to processing data, but also poses risks from a security perspective. The more devices that are connected to the network, the more points of attack the IT infrastructure offers. This is where autonomous, separate small networks can minimize the risk. I/O modules communicate with each other, in pairs or in larger groups, without data flowing into the local company or production network or even into the Internet. With its new software service, Acceed wants to offer its customers the right expertise for configuring such I/O networks. as
