Warehouse labeling
Optimized for scanners and speech recognition
Würth has built a new transshipment warehouse and redesigned its logistics processes in order to consolidate the flow of goods from various shipping points and external warehouses.
For optimum warehouse operation, ONK has labeled the 30,000 or so storage locations in the rack and block warehouses - adapted to both voice-controlled and scanner-based picking.
Würth uses both scanners and pick by voice for order picking. To ensure optimum readability by the scanners, ONK has not only printed the barcodes on retroreflective film, but also angled the labels. This means that they float at an angle and not horizontally above the floor. In addition to the barcode, the respective parking space coordinates are shown on each sign, followed by a check digit. In addition to the floor storage system, ONK has also supplied signs and labels to identify the shelf storage systems.
