MRK at the Fachpack
The future lies in collaboration
Teamwork of tomorrow: At Fachpack, ASA Automation is presenting an application in which a collaborative robot from Fanuc demonstrates direct cooperation with humans.
This year, ASA will be exhibiting a compact pick & place application with a collaborative robot CR-7iA/L from Fanuc for handling cans from the food sector, showing visitors how humans work side by side with robots without protective equipment.
The robot assumes the central function of product position detection, precise product placement and also handover to humans. The safety function with modern sensor technology stops the robot in the event of a collision with a person or object. This generation of robots enables the automation of entire handling and assembly processes in various sectors such as the automotive, packaging, distribution and metal industries, which were previously unthinkable.
The cans are fed in via a double spiral, which serves as a buffer zone and is therefore independent of the product infeed to the product outfeed and vice versa - compensating for production fluctuations in upstream and downstream systems.
ASA builds the spiral conveyor from its Carryline modular system. This modular conveyor system can be combined with other systems and installations. With the spiral conveyors, height differences within the material flow can be bridged in a space-saving manner, while maintaining a consistently high material throughput. Compared to conventional elevators, they are less prone to faults, cheaper and require less maintenance. as
