Butler at Zalando

The goods-to-person robotics solution Butler from Grey Orange optimizes supply chain processes from inventory management to order picking. Among other things, it is used in Zalando's new 30,000 square meter fulfillment center in Brunna, near Stockholm, Sweden.

It is equipped with the most advanced automation technology in Zalando's portfolio. Jan Bartels, VP Customer Fulfillment and Logistics at Zalando, says: "We use the latest technologies for monotonous and non-ergonomic tasks to reduce the workload of our employees. At the same time, we are increasing efficiency. By improving and speeding up processes in the logistics center, we can process orders even faster so that our customers can benefit from shorter delivery times." The AI-driven Butler system provides a deep, multi-SKU capable warehouse system. Strict SLA-based fulfillment requirements have been met as many of the order lead times have been halved.
