Smart Manufacturing
Innovations at the Hannover Messe
Comau presented its innovations for smart manufacturing in line with its "human manufacturing" approach for Industry 4.0 at Hannover Messe Digital 2021.
At the virtual booth, attendees were able to learn about Comau's collaborative and wearable technologies, as well as solutions for the electrification sector designed to increase productivity and efficiency in an ever-evolving smart factory.
Launched in 2021, the Racer-5-0.80 is a 6-axis articulated arm cobot with a 5 kg payload and 809 mm reach that can automatically and completely safely transition from industrial robot speed to safe, collaborative speed. This cobot has been developed to meet the demand for fast, cost-effective collaborative robots that can be used in restricted areas for a wide range of applications. Comau will also showcase its new Mate-XT exoskeleton, which is specifically designed to support workers in industrial, non-industrial and outdoor environments. It is the only commercially available exoskeleton with EAWS certification and is proven to reduce biomechanical stress during strenuous work.
Comau also presented its extensive portfolio of innovative solutions for advanced industrial automation, digitalization and electrification, including: in.Grid, the IIot platform that enables data analysis and real-time monitoring of devices and systems; MI.RA/Thermography, an innovative online quality inspection and control system designed to optimize the production of batteries on an industrial scale, thanks to the use of thermography and artificial intelligence.
Finally, the Comau Laser Lab, a highly specialized laboratory offering advanced operational solutions in the field of electrification for the end-to-end production of batteries and motors. In the field of machining, Comau will showcase the SmartDrive 700L and 800L solutions, which offer fast, precise and flexible machining processes, as well as Urane 25, a horizontal machining center with linear motors and electrospindles that offers high-speed performance and long-term maintenance of accuracy parameters. Finally, an introduction to the Comau e.DO Experience platform will also be available, which Comau Robotics uses as an innovative and engaging learning tool thanks to the interactive robot and open-source e.DO.
