CU-Flex copper processing center

Andreas Mühlbauer,

Process copper in three stations

Boschert also presented the revised CU-Flex copper processing center in Hanover with its three stations for punching, bending and shearing. This enables users to completely manufacture copper parts in just one work process.

The latest upgrade makes the system even more compact and, thanks to its safety door, moves three times as fast as its predecessor. While the three processing stations were still arranged linearly next to each other, two stations have now been repositioned: The punching station is now located in front of the shearing unit. This makes the CU-Flex narrower without sacrificing power. With almost the same height and length, it is only half as wide at a slim 1,250 millimetres and requires even less space in the production hall. Depending on the work program, the stations are selected by the control system and moved into the press unit, which has a pressing and punching force of 40 tons. This enables the shearing, punching and bending of copper and aluminum up to 15 millimeters thick. The copper, aluminum and steel bars can be up to 200 millimeters wide. The maximum shear sizes and bending widths are also 15 by 200 millimeters. The maximum bending height is 190 millimetres and the maximum diameter to be punched is 31.7 millimetres.
