Bending machine

Andrea Gillhuber,

Bending accuracies of ±0.1 °

With the EB 40 Professional E, the Rheinbreitbach-based company Ehrt Maschinenbau offers a more robust bending machine for metal rails in a compact design compared to the Standard Line.

Among other things, it can be used for stack, flat, upright and torsion bending as well as closed shapes and U-bends. According to Ehrt, the bending accuracy is ±0.1 °. Leg lengths of up to 2,000 mm can be bent. The "E" stands for the electric drive of the machines. The advantages over hydraulic machines are the significantly lower noise level, lower maintenance requirements and energy savings of up to 70 percent.

Tools are changed using a plug-in system, which reduces set-up times. A CNC-controlled side stop is included as standard. In addition, larger tables give the user a greater degree of freedom when bending metal rails.

The company relies on Beckhoff for the control system. The PLC enables machine maintenance and software updates via remote access. High repeat accuracy is generally achieved in combination with Ehrt bending tools.
