Microswitch

Andreas Mühlbauer,

Various actuator options

Microprecision Electronics, manufacturer of precision microswitches, introduces a versatile and affordable snap-action switch.
The MP83 in miniature format (V3) is UL/EN certified for an output of 250VAC/16A. It is designed for operating temperatures from -60 to 130 °C. With its connection terminals and IP40 degree of protection, it complements the MP300 series, wired and with IP67 degree of protection, with cost-effective variants.

The normal actuating force of the switch is 0.8 N. There is also a variant with increased actuating force, which also allows the use of a telescopic plunger with or without a roller. Various easy-to-use lever actuators are available for both versions of the switch. They are simply clipped onto the switch.

The three freely selectable mounting positions offer the flexibility to adapt the switching forces and switching paths specifically to the requirements. The switch is designed as a changeover contact (SPDT). The connection is made via the quick-connect terminals with 6.3 x 0.8 mm. The mechanical service life is up to 20 million cycles.

With its wide range of actuators, the MP83 can be used universally. It is a particularly good choice when IP67 protection is not required and the cost criterion is paramount. Application examples can be found in the transportation, machine, automation, appliance and process industries.
