Plastic housing
High shielding effect up to 105 dB
Schukat electronic offers shielded standard plastic enclosures from STB-Abschirmtechnik in various sizes for both the low-frequency and high-frequency radiation range.
They meet industrial requirements in terms of stability, lightness and EMC suitability and achieve a maximum shielding effect of 99.999999% up to 105 dB thanks to the internal full-metal coating, which corresponds to the highest shielding values currently known. With the patented shielding process for various carrier materials, STB-Abschirmtechnik currently achieves the best attenuation results with outstanding adhesion, shielding and conductivity values. The process mechanically and almost inseparably bonds the coating to the carrier material, initially creating a heterogeneous metal surface that bonds to form a fully metallic layer up to 120 µm thick during the process. Solder joints can even be applied to this layer. The oxide flame process also scores highly in terms of its automation options.
The patented process of STB shielding technology has already been tested by the Fraunhofer Institute and compared with other shielding processes such as aluminum or copper vapor deposition. As a result, it achieved significantly higher values for radiation attenuation at 30 and 300 MHz, for example. By comparison, the carrier material from other suppliers is currently either thermally or chemically treated, which has disadvantages such as poorer adhesive strength, deformation of the carrier materials, lower shielding effectiveness and higher sensitivity.
The housings from STB-Abschirmtechnik are also characterized by a highly impact-resistant tongue and groove system, splash water protection and particularly robust production. In addition, stabilizers for clamping the housings after spraying ensure a high degree of fitting accuracy. It is also possible to customize the PCB holders to different PCBs. The coated plastic enclosures from STB-Abschirmtechnik are available from Schukat.
