DC power supply

Andreas Mühlbauer,

Energy efficiency through high efficiency

One of the most important components in the field of automation applications is the DC supply voltage. Cost-sensitive miniature machines in particular require economical power supplies.

The twelve highly efficient variants of the Probas series from Weidmüller are now available on the Conrad Sourcing Platform. The single-phase switched-mode power supplies use innovative components, circuits and mechanics to achieve an efficiency of up to 95% and exhibit very low energy loss in no-load operation. Twelve variants with 5, 12, 24 or 48 V DC output voltage and wide-range input are available with an MTBF value of over one million hours for a wide variety of tasks. With a width of 23 to 59 mm, they require little space and can be snapped onto DIN rails or mounted directly on panel walls.

The wide operating temperature range of -25 to 70 °C allows use even under climatically challenging conditions. Power management systems can also be set up with Probas: all devices are compatible with electronic fuses, DC UPS and diode modules from Weidmüller and therefore enable the flexible expansion of power supply systems in complex applications.
