Company founder Franz Binder dies
The company Franz Binder Elektrische Bauelemente has announced that company founder Franz Binder passed away on May 20 at the age of 90. The senior partner had handed over the management of the company to his son Markus Binder in 2014.
As the founder of the company, he laid the foundations for everything that Binder is today: a successful family business where people make the difference.
Born in Neckarsulm on April 22, 1929 as the youngest of four children, Franz Binder completed his apprenticeship as a lathe operator at Kolbenschmidt in Neckarsulm in 1947. After working for the company for over ten years and successfully passing his master craftsman's examination, he started his own business on January 1, 1960. In the early years, binder still operated as a workshop for mechanics and turned parts, but in 1968 it began producing circular connectors. The binder headquarters have been located in Rötelstrasse in Neckarsulm since 1972. Since the turn of the millennium, the binder Group has developed into an internationally active family business that now employs 1,800 people at 16 locations worldwide. In 2014, Markus Binder took over the management of the company from his father. Franz Binder passed away on May 20, 2019 at the age of 90.
Remained a human being
Franz Binder was not only an outstanding entrepreneur, but above all a down-to-earth and sincere person. The well-being of his fellow human beings and, above all, his employees, for whom his door was always open, was very important to him. He simply remained human and set standards. For Franz Binder, it was always important to maintain contact with "his people". Many of his employees and business partners will certainly remember his statement "If the company is doing well, the people should be doing well too".
Great life's work
"My family and I are immensely saddened by this difficult loss. My father created a great life's work. Above all, I admire his courage in making decisions and never losing sight of his goals," says Markus Binder, Managing Partner of the binder Group, commenting on Franz Binder's death.
