ZF: new production facility in Poland

ZF Global Electronics is expanding its production facilities to Eastern Europe in order to meet the growing demand from Europe and continue to increase its competitiveness. At the same time, ZF is getting closer to its Vision Zero with the production of safety electronics. The company is further expanding its development capacities to drive significant growth in the region.

ZF's planned production facility for electronic components is expected to be ready for production in 2019 and will then employ 300 people at full capacity.

The new plant in Czestochowa, Poland, will support all active and passive safety technology product lines and manufacture innovative camera generations for active safety and airbag control units for occupant protection systems, among other things. The new plant is expected to be ready for production at the end of 2019 and will then employ over 300 people at the site at full capacity.

ZF recently expanded its electronics development with the opening of a new technical center in Lodz, also in Poland. The development center was officially opened in October and offers space for 200 engineers and technicians. The center houses offices and electronics laboratories alongside the electronics development center in Czestochowa, which has been in existence for over ten years and employs around 350 people.

Christophe Marnat, Executive Vice President of the Active and Passive Safety Technology Division and responsible for the Global Electronics product line, said: "The new development center and production site represent cutting-edge technology in the field of safety electronics and their production and development. They support our growth in safety technology and automated driving and build on our production of seat belts and airbags. The electronics development centers in Czestochowa expand our production and development presence in the region to meet the needs of our customers worldwide."
