Weidmüller takes over Malaysian ConnectPlus Technology
The Weidmüller Group acquired the Malaysian company ConnectPlus Technology Sdn Bhd with effect from January 1, 2018.
The company, headquartered in Kuala Lumpur, is the largest distributor of Weidmüller products in the Southeast Asia region. "With this acquisition, we are strengthening Weidmüller's presence in the important growth region of Southeast Asia and will continue to develop it in a targeted manner. This is another important building block for us to further increase our customer proximity in this part of the world," says Chief Sales Officer José Carlos Álvarez Tobar.
"With the acquisition, we are gaining an established and experienced sales team in Malaysia, which has excellent customer connections throughout Southeast Asia and extensive solution and application know-how," emphasizes Darren Lim, Regional Manager South Asia Pacific of the Weidmüller Group. In addition to the headquarters in Kuala Lumpur, ConnectPlus Technology has three regional offices in Penang, Johor and Sarawak. kp
