Top 100: WZL spin-off honored
For the 25th time, the TOP 100 competition has chosen the most innovative companies in the German SME sector. Grindaix is one of this year's innovation leaders. The coolant lubricant system specialists were founded in 2005 from the WZL at RWTH Aachen University.
Things are running like clockwork at Grindaix from Kerpen. Since its foundation, the company has already supported more than 700 SMEs and corporations with their cooling lubricant supply. The cornerstone of its success is a cooling lubricant nozzle that directs the coolant exactly where it is needed. This reduces lubricant consumption and increases the productivity of the respective machine by up to 30 percent.
Targeted high pressure instead of flood lubrication - this successful principle was developed by Managing Director Dr. Dirk Friedrich himself. At the time, Friedrich was still a doctoral student at RWTH Aachen University. His company now employs more than 20 people and develops intelligent technologies that monitor the customer's entire cooling lubricant system: for example, special sensors check the consumption data of each individual cooling lubricant nozzle and, if necessary, correct its performance via the associated pressure supply. In addition, the entire cooling lubricant supply system is monitored and controlled using specially developed monitoring hardware and software, including data storage.
In addition to its inventive spirit, speed is the TOP 100 company's greatest asset, according to the press release. "As a small start-up, we were able to solve problems within a week that would otherwise have kept our customers busy for a whole year," Friedrich is certain. As a mentor of TOP 100, Ranga Yogeshwar honored the company from Kerpen together with Franke and Compamedia at the award ceremony in Ludwigsburg on 29 June 2018 as part of the 5th German SME Summit. as
