SPS 2019: New name, proven concept

From 2019, the SPS IPC Drives trade fair will have a new name: SPS - smart production solutions.

For 29 editions, the name of the SPS IPC Drives trade fair has been made up of the three main topics SPS (programmable logic controllers), IPC (industrial PCs) and Drives (electric drives). In addition to these three original components, however, the trade fair now covers a much broader spectrum of solutions for future-oriented automation. The technical progress of recent years and the digital transformation of the industry have also been reflected at the trade fair for some time now. To take this development into account, the organizer Mesago Messe Frankfurt has adapted the title of the event for its 30th anniversary.

From 2019, the trade fair will have a new name: SPS - smart production solutions. "We have given it a lot of thought and, together with our exhibitor advisory board, have come to the conclusion that this is the right and necessary step. Nothing will change in terms of the proven concept and content. The focus will continue to be on practical solutions and a professional exchange at eye level," explains Sylke Schulz-Metzner, Division Manager at Mesago Messe Frankfurt GmbH for SPS IPC Drives.
