Technology up close: from minicomputers to automated production
RS Components has invited its suppliers to its Partner Day in Mainz on April 11, 2018 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. to show what technical progress means today in a place that once heralded the age of mass media. This is the second time that the distributor from Mörfelden has brought high-tech to the "Alte Lokhalle" event center in Mainz. Where music events usually take place, the focus is now on the latest from the world of technology.
Robot brand self-made from RS components
With the second edition of the event, the number of highlights offering hands-on technology on an industrial scale is also increasing. After this day, the automated soldering system from Weller will have made a lasting impression, as will the "Winchbot 2.0". Resourceful designer Norbert Heinz brought the robot to life using only components from RS. In principle, anyone interested can build the Winchbot using the published plans, assembly instructions and parts lists.
The Raspberry Pi-based industrial process monitoring applications will also capture the imagination of visitors. The computer board was introduced in 2012. Since then, the small computer has taken hearts by storm and is constantly bringing new creative ideas to light, including in the field of control. The Pi awakens a passion for programming in the next generation of engineers. Many people would otherwise never have got involved with technology.
Lectures for more specialist knowledge
In addition to the visual impressions provided by the exhibits, ten presentations will also impart some specialist knowledge. The variety of topics ranges from working correctly with profile construction kits to the increasingly important field of thermography and the basics of digitization. Admission is of course free and registration is now open online. Incidentally, a recreated trade fair bistro ensures that even Lukullus would not be averse to a visit. Participants in a competition can also win attractive prizes. am
