Preparations underway for 3rd FMB South
Parallel to the planning of the FMB - Supplier Fair for Mechanical Engineering, at the beginning of November in Bad Salzuflen, the organizer Clarion is preparing for the third FMB-Süd in Augsburg in February 2019. There will be an information day for interested parties on 18 September.
FMB-Süd 2019 will mark the start of the trade fair year not only for the organizer, but also for exhibitors and visitors. At the premiere in 2017, 144 exhibitors presented their products and services for mechanical engineering and industry, this year there were 188. It is not yet clear how many exhibitors there will be in 2019. Christian Enßle, Portfolio Manager of trade fair organizer Clarion: "The booking status corresponds to that of the previous year at the same time - and there are still seven months until the start of the trade fair."
The trade fair location in the center of the southern technology axis, which stretches from Karlsruhe via Stuttgart to Munich, has proven itself. Here there is a dense concentration of market leaders and specialists in the fields of mechanical engineering, automotive, lightweight construction, logistics and aerospace. In the Augsburg region alone, more than 650 industrial companies with over 130,000 employees generate an annual turnover of around 28 billion euros.
The Mechatronics & Automation Cluster will use the FMB-Süd as a platform for information and cooperation. The Mittelstand 4.0 Competence Centre in Augsburg, which advises production companies on digitalization projects, will also be presenting its (free) range of services at FMB-Süd.
Compared to the FMB in Bad Salzuflen, materials technology and lightweight construction will have a larger share of the exhibition program because composite processing, for example, is one of the region's core competencies. Assembly and handling technology as well as automation technology will also be strongly represented. Leading manufacturers such as Bihl + Wiedemann, Hitachi Drives & Automation, Kawasaki Robotics, Rose + Krieger and Taktomat have already booked stands for FMB-Süd 2019.
