MVTec supports Smart Green Island Makeathon 2019
MVTec Software, the Munich-based provider of standard machine vision software, supported the Smart Green Island Makeathon 2019 as a Silver Sponsor.
As part of the competition, which took place from 20 to 23 February in Las Palmas on Gran Canaria and was organized by the company ITQ, 270 participants from 70 universities in 21 countries were able to put their technical talent to the test. The participants had the task of developing prototypes for smart, green and innovative products within a short period of time in teamwork. In addition to financial sponsorship, MVTec also made its standard machine vision software Halcon available to the students. Employees of the company were available to mentor the young talents and provided professional support in the development of the projects using this in-house image processing software.
Organizer ITQ advises customers on the connection between software and mechanics and aims to inspire young people for technical contexts with events such as the Smart Green Island Makeathon. As part of the four-day competition, the participants first learned how to form effective development teams and create promising ideas. In several pitches, the young talents presented their proposals, their implementation and project results to around 400 participants and guests.
