Markus Sandhöfner elected to the VDMA Executive Board
The VDMA Electrical Automation Association elected a new board of directors at its general meeting in June. Markus Sandhöfner, Managing Director of B&R Germany, was appointed alongside seven other representatives from the automation industry.
The automation specialist not only brings his expertise in this field to the VDMA board, but also over 20 years of experience in mechanical engineering. "The VDMA trade association is a valuable institution with the aim of making automation tangible for mechanical and plant engineering," says Sandhöfner. The graduate mechanical and industrial engineer began his career at B&R's headquarters in Eggelsberg, Austria. He has worked for the automation manufacturer for 17 years and has been Managing Director of B&R Germany since 2014.
The newly elected Executive Board, chaired by Jörg Freitag, will immediately take up its work for the next four years. "Automation providers are important solution partners for mechanical engineering, which is why we want to create collaborations and network within the VDMA," says Freitag about his wishes for the future work of the Board.
