Short distances
How bridging steps, stairs and catwalks are changing processes in production and logistics
In production halls and logistics centers, even a small change can sometimes have a big impact. Shortening distances not only saves time, but also increases safety. The bridging steps, stairs, platform stairs and walkway systems from Munk Günzburger Steigtechnik in Bavaria demonstrate this principle. They shorten distances in the warehouse, in production and in outdoor areas and, according to the company, mean that productivity and occupational safety do not have to be played off against each other.
The systems can be individually configured: Online configurators make it possible to implement your own requirements in just a few steps. Munk will be showcasing its solutions at Logimat 2026 in Stuttgart: Visitors can try out the configurators live at stand 3C15 in hall 3 and get an idea of the modular design.
"The right step-over in the right place quickly becomes the key factor for faster operating processes: our customers reduce their production costs because they can rely fully on automated production processes and still be sure that the operating personnel can get from A to B quickly and without major detours. This saves a lot of time and money and ensures maximum occupational safety," says Ferdinand Munk, owner and Managing Director of the Munk Group. Studies have shown that for every euro invested in occupational safety, 2.2 euros are returned.
The manufacturer's bridging steps, catwalks and stairs are characterized by their modular design and can be flexibly extended as required. Sleeve nuts replace T-bolts, making installation quicker. The systems are fitted with Idealstopp castors as standard, which also offer a modern look.
Online configuration for every requirement
Customers can configure bridging steps, stairs, mobile platform stairs, fixed ladders and roof bridging steps online around the clock. Dimensions, designs and accessories can be entered step by step and the result is displayed in real time as a 3D model and dimensional drawing. After saving, the user receives an offer and drawing by e-mail.
The roof bridging configurator allows adjustments to the angle of inclination, step covering, roof structure and obstacles. The ladder configurator simulates the real wall so that planners can take into account all interfering contours such as windows, ledges or pipes.
Flexible bridging steps for any environment
The solutions from Munk Günzburger Steigtechnik are versatile and adaptable: steel gratings for outdoor areas, corrugated aluminum for factory halls, perforated sheets and aluminum gratings for hygienic areas. All surfaces comply with the R13 standard for slip resistance and ensure stability and a secure footing even in wet, oil-smeared or dusty conditions.
Standard bridging steps are available with 45-degree or steeper 60-degree angles. The configurator enables individual adjustments to the angle of inclination, access height, construction height and railing options. Plug-in pockets are no longer tied to railing selection, which creates additional flexibility.
Modular catwalk systems
Walkway systems are also available in modular design. The modules are available in three lengths and can be freely combined. In this way, systems can be put together individually and cost-effectively.
Munk Günzburger Steigtechnik attaches great importance to fast service: Bridging steps, walkway systems, stairs and mobile platform stairs leave the factory within ten days, fixed ladders even within 1-3 days. All products comply with applicable standards, are produced exclusively in Günzburg, bear the TÜV-certified "Made in Germany" certificate of origin and come with a 15-year guarantee.
