Lantek closes 2020 with record sales and customer figures

In a year characterized by the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic and in which strict safety measures slowed down the metal industry, Lantek achieved record sales.

The IT specialist for sheet metal processing recorded a turnover of 21.3 million euros in 2020, a slight increase compared to the previous year. As a multinational industry leader in the development of software solutions for the digital factory and digital transformation of metal and sheet metal processing, Lantek maintained its position on the international market.

The performance of the adaptation of more than 220 Lantek employees worldwide to the new situation and the confidence of customers have contributed to the increase in revenues at the end of the year - with a clear upward trend for 2021.

During the toughest quarter in terms of lockdown measures in many of its international offices, the company suffered a 10.4% drop in sales in the spring, which it had to make up during the easing of the situation in order to return to pre-pandemic levels. Lantek already achieved a 6% increase in sales in the last quarter. In December 2020, the company invoiced EUR 2.1 million, which represents an increase of 9.9% compared to December 2019. This indicates a comparatively very positive result. Germany confirmed this trend: here, Lantek achieved the previous year's results in the final quarter.

The international market accounts for an increasingly growing share of the IT specialist's global turnover, currently 88%. In terms of regions, the pandemic has had the greatest impact on Europe, where governments have imposed stricter restrictions on mobility than on other continents. Accordingly, the development of Lantek's business in Europe lost momentum. However, other parts of Western Europe, including Germany, have picked up speed again in recent months. In Asia, South Korea is growing by more than 25 percent and China by almost 20 percent. On the American continent, the USA is leading the way with growth of 7 percent.

Outlook for 2021

The second half of the year brought a turnaround, and between October and December Lantek resumed its upward trend. This growth was accompanied by the recruitment of additional specialists for the technical teams of our MES, CAD/CAM and cloud solutions.

"We are entering this new year prepared and confident. Our teams are ready to take on the challenge of continuing our growth and delivering the solutions that the industry needs now," says Alberto López de Biñaspre, CEO of Lantek.
