Multi-media cooler
KTR opens new plant in China
KTR has opened a new cooler plant in Jiaxing, China. From the beginning of 2019, multi-media coolers for mobile machinery and oil/air coolers for stationary hydraulics will be built there.
In October 2018, production of the first prototypes began in the approximately 9,000m2 production hall in Jiaxing, around 100 kilometers southwest of Shanghai. The plan is to process around 200 tons of aluminium per month into high-quality cooling systems that are used as multi-media coolers in construction and agricultural machinery or as oil/air coolers in stationary hydraulics. The company has invested in state-of-the-art machinery for this purpose.
KTR Managing Director Nicola Warning says: "We can manufacture even small batches here in a highly automated process and therefore at a consistently high level of quality." Another prerequisite for this is the close cooperation between the designers and developers at the KTR headquarters and the production specialists in Jiaxing. "The engineering of the high-performance coolers is still carried out in Rheine - this applies to custom-made products as well as standard solutions," emphasizes Warning, adding: "However, production takes place exclusively in Jiaxing."
With the new radiator plant, KTR is continuing its expansion course for China. The new plant for clutches and brakes in Jiaxing only went into operation in 2016. The 30,000m2 site combines production, assembly and logistics, as well as R&D services for selected product segments: "Our plans are to establish Jiaxing as a long-term production and logistics location in order to supply the whole of East and Southeast Asia and Australia with tailor-made drive solutions from here in the future," says the KTR Managing Director.
