Jochen Schröder is Head of E-Mobility at Schaeffler

Dr. Jochen Schröder will take over the management of the Schaeffler Group's newly established E-Mobility division on April 1, 2018. In this role, he will report to Matthias Zink, Member of the Board of Managing Directors Automotive OEM.

Dr. Jochen Schröder will take over the management of the Schaeffler Group's newly created E-Mobility division on April 1, 2018.

The 46-year-old is moving to the Schaeffler Group from Valeo Siemens eAutomotive GmbH, where he was responsible for global R&D activities as CTO. After studying electrical engineering at the Technical University of Hamburg-Harburg, he earned his doctorate in the field of control engineering. After a successful career of more than 15 years at BMW with various management positions, including in the areas of system design and pre-development of electric drives as well as energy management for the entire vehicle, Dr. Jochen Schröder took over the role of Head of Development at Valeo Siemens eAutomotive GmbH at the end of 2016.

"We are delighted that we have been able to recruit Dr. Schröder and are convinced that, with his many years of experience in various areas of electric mobility, he has the best qualifications to successfully lead our new E-Mobility division and thus actively help shape mobility for tomorrow," said Matthias Zink, CEO Automotive OEM of the Schaeffler Group.

In mid-2017, Schaeffler decided to establish an independent E-Mobility division within the Automotive division effective January 1, 2018, which will bundle all products and system solutions for hybrid and purely battery-powered vehicles. The new division is located in Bühl - at the Schaeffler Group's new automotive headquarters. kp
