Tanja Rückert leaves SAP

IoT expert joins the Bosch Group

IoT expert Dr. Tanja Rückert will join the Bosch Group on July 1, 2018 and take over the management of the Bosch Building Technologies division (2017: 1.9 billion euros in sales; 9,000 associates) on August 1. She is currently head of the IoT and Digital Supply Chain division at SAP SE in Walldorf. Rückert succeeds Gert van Iperen (63), who is retiring on July 31.

IoT expert Dr. Tanja Rückert will take over as head of the Bosch Building Technologies division on August 1.

"With Tanja Rückert, we are gaining an internationally recognized expert on the Internet of Things and Industry 4.0. I am delighted that she is joining Bosch. She will drive forward, develop and implement our strategy focused on connectivity in products, systems and solutions for security, communication and energy efficiency," said Dr. Stefan Hartung, member of the Bosch board of management responsible for the Energy and Building Technology business sector, among other things. At the same time, Hartung paid tribute to the work of his predecessor: "Gert van Iperen has always been characterized by wisdom and pragmatism. With foresight, he has thought ahead on issues of networking and digitalization in the field of security and building technology. In addition, he has continuously internationalized the business with solutions and services in this area."

More than 20 years of international experience in the software environment

"In the age of IoT, data is becoming the core component of industrial value creation and software the nervous system of a highly connected world. I am very much looking forward to being able to contribute my experience in both areas at Bosch," says Rückert. A doctor of chemistry and mother of two, she has worked at SAP since 1997 and has 20 years of international experience as a manager with strategic and operational responsibility within the software industry. She has extensive knowledge in the areas of digital transformation, the Internet of Things, Industry 4.0 and Logistics 4.0.

During her time at SAP, she worked in Germany and Silicon Valley in the USA and led global teams in Palo Alto, Walldorf, Bangalore, Shanghai and other locations. kp
