Intec, Z and GrindTec trade fair alliance
Reunion in Leipzig
From March 7 to 10, 2023, the Intec, Z and GrindTec industrial trade fairs will be inviting visitors to the first important industry get-together of the year for production technology in the metalworking, supplier and tool industries in Europe.
Over the four days of the trade fair, the international trade fair network will cover the entire metalworking value chain in the halls of Leipziger Messe. The exhibitors - including numerous renowned market leaders from Germany and abroad - will present their high-performance product innovations at the trade fair trio. In addition, the practice-oriented specialist program provides forward-looking impetus and promotes the transfer of knowledge on the industry's top topics.
"Intec and Z are finally back in the exhibition halls: We are delighted that our industrial trade fairs are back on track after the pandemic-related break. Visitors can look forward to an attractive and extensive range of trade fairs. In addition, GrindTec is enriching the trade fair network for the first time - with its focus on tool machining and tool grinding, it fits in perfectly with Intec and Z. In March 2023, our international trade fair trio will become a magnet for the metalworking industry as well as the supplier and tool industry," says Markus Geisenberger, Managing Director of Leipziger Messe.
Right now, it is important for exhibitors and visitors that industrial trade fairs such as Intec, Z and GrindTec are taking place again, emphasizes Markus Geisenberger: "Exhibitors and visitors are making it clear that they urgently need the exchange at our international trade fairs. At last, exhibitors can present the innovations and solutions they have developed live again. It is also important for the industry to maintain and realign supply chains, counter cost increases and become more resilient. Our trio of trade fairs is the ideal platform for in-depth discussions on these topics and for driving projects forward."
Intec: Diverse range covers all production stages of metalworking
Major market leaders in the machine tool industry and renowned suppliers of precision tools will be at Intec 2023. The attractive trade fair offering will primarily consist of machine tools, machine components, tools and clamping devices as well as production automation and robotics. Companies from the major German mechanical engineering centers of Baden-Württemberg, Bavaria, North Rhine-Westphalia and Saxony will once again have a strong presence. As of today, around ten percent of exhibitors are coming from abroad. Most of the international exhibitors come from Switzerland, Italy and Austria.
Z: Tailor-made platform for suppliers and industrial service providers
Z once again offers suppliers of the lower and medium production levels as well as industrial service providers the perfect platform for their positioning on the market. The focus of Z is on suppliers for mechanical and plant engineering, for the automotive and vehicle industry as well as for toolmaking and other industrial sectors. As part of the multifaceted exhibition, trade visitors can obtain specific information about new products, materials and machining processes, universally applicable or special parts and components as well as contract manufacturing and services for various stages of industrial production. As in previous editions, the subcontracting trade fair once again has a high proportion of foreign exhibitors: Around 25 percent of exhibitors come from abroad - mainly from Poland, Italy and the Czech Republic.
GrindTec: User meeting for tool machining and tool grinding
"At GrindTec 2023 in Leipzig, exhibitors will present new solutions for tool machining and tool grinding, reflecting the requirements profile of the precision tool mechanics industry. This year's focus is on grinding machines, tool machining systems, their automation and abrasives," says Prof. Dr. Wilfried Saxler, Managing Director of the technical sponsor of GrindTec, FDPW. He describes a trend that will shape future processes in industrial and craft businesses in the sector as follows: "We must and will deal intensively with adaptive structures that focus on the interaction of man and machine with artificial intelligence. At GrindTec, examples will be provided of how the complex system of requirements, measurement data, machine and workpiece to be machined can be smoothly organized using innovative control and software concepts. Visitors can look forward to new technologies that organize work processes more efficiently, faster and less error-prone." He also considers laser technology to be very relevant for the industry. "It is increasingly being used to process hard and ultra-hard cutting materials and is constantly improving and becoming more precise." Visitors can also look forward to innovations in the areas of measuring and clamping technology as well as peripheral systems.
Focus on new products and further developments from exhibitors
At the upcoming Intec, exhibitors from Germany and abroad will once again be presenting powerful new products as well as smart, innovative developments from the machine tool sector and production automation. Exhibitor INDEX-Werke will be presenting the new TRAUB TNX220 turn-mill center, which, among other things, has an extended turning length of 900 mm. A stable machine design, dynamic axes and simple operation - according to EMAG, these are the key features of the VL 2 vertical turning machine on show at Intec. The technology and solution provider Industrie-Partner is bringing Robo Operator® to Leipzig: this is an independent, mobile and flexible automation solution for CNC machine tools and automatic assembly machines.
Visitors can also look forward to innovations at the stands of exhibitors at the Z supplier trade fair. The company all-tight Gewindesicherung is coming with a world premiere: For the first time, its new sustainable thread locking system is made from raw materials that are otherwise used in surgery. According to the exhibitor, this saves resources without compromising on quality. Trade visitors to the Cold Jet stand in Leipzig will be able to find out about the range of surface preparation and cleaning solutions on offer - including the PCS® 60 and i3 MicroClean 2 cleaning systems.
At GrindTec, Bruker Alicona, among others, will be presenting an innovation: components can be measured with the new 3D measuring instrument InfiniteFocusG6, regardless of size, material, geometry, weight and surface finish, in a surface-based and high-resolution manner. Heinz Berger Maschinenfabrik will be presenting the new generation of the RFS/RT/NT peripheral grinding machine for the first time. According to the exhibitor, the grinding machine achieves surface and/or bevel grinding on circular knives, saw blades and circular blanks using the pendulum or plunge-cut method. Thanks to an additional grinding axis, subsequent grindings can be carried out in a single clamping - this means that the surface of the workpiece can be ground flat and a bevel can be applied to the cutting edge in a single work cycle, the company reports.
Practice-oriented specialist program enriches the exhibition offering
The practical specialist program is also an important part of the trade fair trio and helps to find answers to questions relating to the transformation of the industry. The special shows and specialist forums "Additive manufacturing - evolution of a modern technology", "Sensor technology - use and prospects in manufacturing" and "Fuel Cell Hub - value creation through hydrogen" will shed light on future topics in the industry. Both the international cooperation forum "Welcome to Saxony!" and the Contact Business Meetings are all about establishing business contacts across national borders. In addition, the Industry's Hidden Champions Conference will present the entrepreneurial transformation successes of medium-sized global market leaders as part of the trade fair network.
At GrindTec, visitors can expect a specialist program that covers the many facets of tool machining in various themed areas. The GrindTec FORUM, for example, offers specialist presentations on highly topical issues in the industry. In addition, scientific institutions from the industry will present the latest state of research and development at the GrindTec CAMPUS. The Toolgrinder Challenge 2023 competition is looking for the best precision tool mechanic of the year - and the GrindTec Innovation Award honors innovative, efficient and sustainable products, processes and services.
