Infineon is working together with Alibaba Cloud on its IoT operating system AliOS Things. The semiconductor manufacturer is contributing its core technology and service edge in the IoT environment and providing the technical services. The acceleration of the IoT application process also places new demands on system security. As part of their collaboration, the two partners are therefore examining the planning, implementation and security standards in IoT to make the provision of and access to the Alibaba Cloud cost-effective and reliable for SMEs and individuals. This will enable them to participate in the development of the IoT, but at the same time protect them from losses due to security risks.

Combining semiconductor technology and the IoT

"To develop and improve an IoT ecosystem, we need to combine the best resources and strengths of all parties," said Wei Ku, Vice President of Alibaba Group and General Manager of Alibaba Cloud IoT. "Through this partnership, we combine Alibaba Cloud's expertise in operating systems with Infineon's semiconductor technology. We are convinced that this will bring us a big step forward in the development of IoT in smart industries."
