One billion euros in turnover: this target, which the Cologne-based plastics company Igus first set itself for 2020, has now been achieved just two years later despite the coronavirus pandemic - and just in time for the start of Cologne Carnival on 11.11. "Unbelievable, but true: on this very day, we as a Cologne-based family business reached the one billion euro turnover mark," says a delighted Frank Blase, Managing Director of Igus, who was also born in Cologne. And the next goals have already been set: by 2025, the company's own production is to become climate-neutral, and by 2030 Igus wants to serve one million active customers.

From the Cologne garage to the world

Everything at Igus started in a garage. In 1964, Margret and Günter Blase founded the company Igus. With the words "Give me your most difficult injection molded part and I'll find a solution", the couple won their first customer and laid the foundation for the company's success.Today, Igus serves around 188,000 customers from over 50 industries worldwide and employs over 4,500 people at 31 locations. With the guiding principle "improve what moves", the company strives to improve movement worldwide through the use of motion plastics.
