Measurement and automation specialist increases turnover and profit

Endress+Hauser put the coronavirus pandemic behind it economically in 2021 with strong growth. The Group's consolidated turnover increased by more than 11 percent to just under 2.9 billion euros.

The company, which specializes in measurement and automation technology, thus significantly exceeded its own expectations. The family-owned company not only increased its net sales and profit compared to the previous year, but also exceeded the comparable figures from 2019. Employment also grew significantly. At the end of 2021, the Group had more than 15,000 employees worldwide, over 600 more than a year ago. "We continued and implemented all major investment projects as planned," emphasized CFO Dr. Luc Schultheiss.

The rapid recovery was not foreseeable for the company. "We have seen strong catch-up effects, but have also experienced solid growth in practically all of our strategic industries," said CEO Matthias Altendorf. Despite pandemic-related restrictions, bottlenecks in the procurement markets and strained logistics chains, Endress+Hauser has "always been able to deliver".

Good growth expected for 2022

Incoming orders grew even faster than net sales in 2021 Endress+Hauser started the current year with a significantly higher order backlog. Assuming there are no unexpected setbacks at a political level or major upheavals on the financial markets, the company expects sales growth in the upper single-digit percentage range in 2022.
