When two sliding surfaces meet
Diamant Polymer takes over SKC Gleittechnik's product business
Diamant Polymer GmbH takes over the product business of SKC Gleittechnik GmbH. On April 1, 2026, the quality and product range will not change - only the supplier.
For both companies, this is a strategic step that will allow them to focus on their core competencies. SKC Gleittechnik, known for technical sliding materials, will continue to exist, but in future will concentrate exclusively on the material processing of SKC sliding and parting line coverings. Diamant Polymer from Mönchengladbach, on the other hand, has been producing moldable bonded coatings and joint sealants for over 50 years. The company thus brings with it extensive product and application knowledge in precisely the markets that SKC has served to date.
"Diamant stands for quality, innovation and reliability. Even in the new structure, it is important to us to ensure clear responsibilities and long-term stability for our customers. We look forward to continuing on this path together and in a new structure," says Carsten Kunde, Managing Director at Diamant.
For customers, the change means that everything remains as it is. The complete portfolio, from production, quality control and further development to sales, delivery and customer care, is now in the hands of Diamant. The products are still available in the usual quality. Only the name on the letterhead is changing.
Diamant Polymer sees itself as a supplier of polymer systems: from low-viscosity materials for impregnating porous structures to highly filled composite systems for dynamic and static loads. The aim is to minimize downtimes, reduce costs and maintain value. Beneficiaries include industries such as steel and bridge construction, mechanical engineering, foundries, the automotive industry, additive manufacturing and thermal coatings.
Formulation, development and production take place in Germany, distributed via a global sales network of over 40 foreign representatives. Diamant also operates two of its own production sites in Bangalore, India, and Jakarta, Indonesia - in North America, the company is represented by Diamant Polymers Inc. USA.
