Bott invests in more flexible production

Bott invests in making production at the Mössingen site more flexible. With an additional machining center from Heller and a pallet container from Fastems, customer projects can be processed automatically.

"With the additional machining center, the new container and the interlinking with the existing system, we are increasing our flexibility," says Daniel Ehrnsberger confidently. "We now have more options, especially when unplanned intermediate work has to be inserted," says the head of the milling shop at Bott. The company has once again strengthened its Mössingen site and invested in another Heller H4000 machining center and a Fastems FPC 1000 flexible pallet container. Both machines were integrated into the existing system and linked together for automated milling production. Two loading stations now supply two Heller machining centers.

Host computer distributes the tasks
A host computer takes over the planning of processing according to the scheduling and urgency preferences of order preparation. If fewer employees are present during breaks, vacations or illness, the production network can process orders with fewer pallet changes. In the same way, lengthy processing cycles, such as those required for the production of complex hydraulic blocks, can now be shifted to unmanned production time overnight and processed fully automatically.

Managing Director Nico Bott expects the interlinked and automated solution consisting of two H4000 machining centers and two Fastems containers to significantly increase production flexibility. "We can now react much more quickly to unplanned and urgent orders and push work in between more easily." Despite all the automation, the employees still have sovereignty over the milling processes.

The new system also ensures greater satisfaction among the workers. This is because the fact that the milling processes still run reliably, repeatably and reliably in unattended phases, for example during absences due to illness, but also during breaks and meetings, reduces stress levels. as
