Bihl+Wiedemann
Bernhard Wiedemann switches to private life
A personnel change is taking place at Bihl+Wiedemann: Bernhard Wiedemann, co-founder, Managing Director and Head of Development for many years, is retiring from the operational business after more than 30 years of successful work and starting a new chapter in his private life.
From now on, co-founder Jochen Bihl will be the sole managing director - he stands for continuity in management and will continue to lead the company with full vigor. "With his technical expertise, his foresight and his commitment, Bernhard has played a key role in making us the technology leader in the AS-Interface sector today," says Jochen Bihl. "He is leaving an excellently positioned company - and I look forward to continuing on this successful path together with our experienced team."
Well-prepared transition into experienced hands
Bernhard Wiedemann has been gradually reducing his active role since 2019 and gradually handing over responsibility to long-standing colleagues. Carsten Ruhm, who has shaped the team for many years as Deputy Head of Development, is now taking over as Head of Development. He brings with him extensive technical and organizational experience. Christian Kraus, who has been active on the international standardization committee AS-International for over ten years, will take over the technical representation of the company.
"It fills me with pride to look back on what we have achieved together," says Bernhard Wiedemann. "I am handing over a stable, innovative company - and I look forward to seeing how it continues to grow."
Technological excellence - the contribution of Bernhard Wiedemann
Since its foundation in Mannheim in 1992, Bihl+Wiedemann has stood for technological milestones and continuous growth - as a reliable innovation partner in the automation industry. Many of these successes bear the direct signature of Bernhard Wiedemann: Bihl+Wiedemann played a key role in the development of all ASi generations, was the first company to launch ASi-5 devices in 2019 and introduced the first ASi-5 Safety devices in 2022.
With the takeover of Bernhard Wiedemann's shares by the Bihl family, the company remains owner-managed, independent and privately owned. The next generation of the Bihl family is already actively involved: As CIO, Marten Bihl has been responsible for central areas of IT and digitalization for several years - another sign of stability and future viability.
"This continuity of thought and action is an important part of our corporate DNA," emphasizes Jochen Bihl. "My special thanks go to Bernhard - for 33 years of partnership, his visionary development work and his many years of formative influence."
The future in experienced hands
The course has been set for the coming years: With an experienced successor in the development department, a well-coordinated team and the continued management responsibility of Jochen Bihl, Bihl+Wiedemann is ideally positioned to further expand its role as a reliable partner in automation technology worldwide.
