Basler acquires Silicon Software

Basler acquires all shares in Silicon Software GmbH with immediate effect. The two managing directors Dr. Klaus-Henning Noffz and Dr. Ralf Lay will work for Silicon Software and Basler in the future. With this acquisition, the manufacturer of industrial cameras is further expanding its product portfolio for computer vision applications.

In future, users will be able to purchase Basler cameras with Silicon Software's image acquisition cards and thus already have pre-processing and evaluation of image data "on board". The graphical programming of the vision processors via Silicon Software's Visual Applets software should lead to shorter development times and faster time-to-market cycles for users.

"Silicon Software's product range complements our product portfolio and will significantly support us in the coming years in successfully implementing our planned expansion strategy towards the performance segment of the computer vision market," explains Dr. Dietmar Ley, CEO of Basler AG.

"The strategic orientation of both companies fits together very well. Basler and Silicon Software can now offer solutions from image acquisition to evaluation for all performance areas worldwide. They are two strong names that also stand for innovation in the embedded and Industry 4.0 sectors," add Dr. Klaus-Henning Noffz and Dr. Ralf Lay, CEOs of Silicon Software GmbH.
