Atlas Copco wants to take over Scheugenpflug
The Swedish industrial group Atlas Copco wants to take over Scheugenpflug, based in Neustadt an der Donau. The company specializes in highly automated system solutions in bonding and dosing technology as well as dosing systems for vacuum potting.
Scheugenpflug achieved a turnover of around 80 million euros in 2018. The Neustadt-based company employs more than 600 people and has subsidiaries in the USA, China, Mexico and Romania. Scheugenpflug products are used in numerous branches of industry, including the automotive industry, medical technology and general machine, device and plant construction.
"The acquisition strengthens our position in industrial metering technology and enables us to offer solutions to a larger customer base than before," explains Henrik Elmin, President of Atlas Copco's Industrial Technology Division in Sweden. Conversely, Scheugenpflug will have better opportunities for growth because the company will be able to draw on Atlas Copco's global sales and service network.
Scheugenpflug will be integrated into the Industrial Assembly Solutions division of Atlas Copco. The legal owner will be Atlas Copco Holding in Essen, Germany. The purchase price is subordinated to the market capitalization of the Group and will not be disclosed. The acquisition is subject to regulatory review and is expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2020. as
