SPS 2019
Anniversary PLC looks to the digital future
The 30th edition of SPS once again welcomed a large number of trade visitors who came to find out about new products, solutions and trends in smart and digital automation from national and international exhibitors.
The exhibitors emphasized the high quality of the discussions with trade visitors and confirmed the relevance of the trade fair for the industry. "If it hadn't been around for 30 years, the PLC would have to be reinvented. It is as future-oriented and adaptable as automation technology and just as successful. There is hardly any other trade fair where we hold discussions at such a technical depth, where so many concrete and joint projects are launched," explained Steffen Winkler, Sales Director of the Automation and Electrification Solutions business unit at Bosch Rexroth, for example.
Despite the current tense economic situation, companies are positive about the future and see the SPS as the leading trade fair for smart and digital automation. A total of around 63,700 visitors came to Nuremberg and 1,585 exhibitors presented their innovations. The number of exhibitors with their own stand space was even higher than ever before.
In addition to the technical discussions at the trade fair stands, users and decision-makers also found answers to their questions in specialist lectures and product presentations at the forums and during the guided tours on the topics of machine learning and AI, predictive maintenance, industrial security in manufacturing and cloud ecosystems. During the tours, they were able to gain an overview of innovations and exhibits from the specific subject areas and experience use cases. In addition, the area dedicated to industrial security in Hall 6 was well received by visitors. Next year, the trade fair for smart and digital automation will take place from November 24 to 26, 2020. as
