"100 Places for Industry 4.0" competition
"Pilz Smart Factory" receives award
The "Pilz Smart Factory" was honored as the winner of the "100 Places for Industry 4.0 in Baden-Württemberg" competition.
The Smart Factory from Pilz replicates a real production plant. This demonstrator consists of the modules warehouse, robot, laser, manual workstation and service robot with driverless transport system. The modular production line shows the practical application of Industry 4.0: thanks to decentralized control intelligence, mobile service robotics, intelligent diagnostics and visualization as well as cloud connectivity, various personalized products can be manufactured in batch size 1. The order, production process and output of the product can thus be simulated, tested and continuously optimized in the interaction of the components and processes.
The demonstrator is used at trade fairs, press conferences, internally for training, as a test application for development and as an example application for new technologies. In this way, both new and existing technologies (green and brownfield) can be implemented and tested in the smart factory of tomorrow. Valuable insights and impulses for the company can be gained and new products can be implemented and thus tested "in the field". In the course of this, the functionality of the demonstrator will be expanded step by step.
