Motor inverter package
Up to 16 percent higher energy efficiency
ABB has launched the Baldor-Reliance EC Titanium integrated motor inverter package. The product range exceeds the efficiency requirements of the IE5 standard.
Standards for motors have been in place for decades. Nevertheless, the demand for greater efficiency is increasing, as ever stricter regulations are being issued for the overall system of fans, pumps and compressors. System manufacturers are turning to new motor technologies to achieve the best possible system efficiency while using sustainable materials.
The ABB Baldor-Reliance EC Titanium product range combines Ferrite Assisted Synchronous Reluctance (FASR) technology with magnetic materials without rare earths. In this way, the efficiency requirements of the IE 5 standard are not only met, but even exceeded. EC Titanium is suitable for constant and variable torque applications and achieves outstanding performance over a wide speed and load range and above the base speed.
The EC Titanium product line is economical and efficient even at partial load operation, where most fans run. The great advantage is that the high efficiency is maintained at any speed, even above the basic speed. In this way, the design of fans can be optimized.
EC titanium motors have a power factor close to one and therefore enable the use of the smallest possible drives. This reduces the size and weight of the integrated system. In addition, the integrated drive solution is designed in such a way that much less space is required for the motor control. In addition, the frequency inverter is mounted on the motor or on the opposite drive side, which reduces wiring costs.
The Baldor-Reliance EC Titanium product range is available in IEC and NEMA standard dimensions. The available rated power is 1 to 20 HP (0.75 to 15 kW) for the motor without integrated inverter, 1 to 20 HP (0.75 to 7.5 kW) for the integrated motor with top-mounted inverter and 1 to 7.5 HP (0.75 to 5.5 kW) for the axially mounted inverter. as
