The more complex a multi-axis assembly, handling or positioning system is designed, the more time-consuming and cost-intensive the installation of the control technology usually is. Jung Antriebstechnik u. Automation (JA²) has therefore developed ready-to-use positioning controller sets called PosiPac, which are designed to significantly reduce the amount of wiring required in control cabinets: Instead of mounting and connecting all controllers and power supplies individually, the Wettenberg-based company offers a complete package of LinMot controllers and power supplies that is ready to install and configured as required. JA² uses slimline power supply units for the PosiPac units and groups all components ready-wired on a control cabinet-compatible aluminum mounting plate with a universal drilling pattern - including DC link capacitor for load and regeneration peaks. The LinMot controllers and power supply units are UL-certified. The latter also have temperature, overload, short-circuit and overvoltage protection. All PosiPac units have the same dimensions of 135 mm x 280 mm x 120 mm (W x H x D).

Eight controller packages

The PosiPac line is available with eight differently equipped package solutions for one-, two- and three-axis applications and in two power categories: The PosiPacs in the "Value" category, which have ₄₈ VDC power supplies and provide 320 W of drive power, are suitable for up to three-axis industrial applications with medium dynamics; the "Perform" variant is designed for applications with up to two axes and higher dynamic requirements. It has ₇₂ VDC power supplies and delivers 640 W of power. In addition to the 48 and ₇₂ VDC power supply units for the drive technology, various variants can also be equipped with 24 _VDC power supply units for 150 W drive power. These can be used to supply both the logic of the LinMot controllers and other external loads.

All PosiPac variants are equipped with positioning controllers from the LinMot C11XX and C12XX series. The company also offers the option of fitting older LinMot controllers from the B1100 series.
Jung Antriebstechnik u. Automation (JA²) has designed the compact controller packages in its new PosiPac line to cover a wide range of industrial applications. The actuators from the HighDynamic, QuickDynamic and ForTorque series can be combined as required (see also info box). Depending on which controllers and power supply units the PosiPac systems are equipped with, they are suitable for point-to-point automation - for example, placement or loading systems - or complex sorting or distribution applications with multi-functionality and multi-dimensional path curve control. STO functionality is provided in all cases. And with regard to the extremely smart power supply units, all PosiPac positioning systems from Jung can be used under the conditions of Functional Extra Low Voltage (FELV < 75 _VDC) in the industrial sector in accordance with DIN VDE 0100-410; use in medical technology applications is not intended.
