Frequency inverter

More power with less energy

The new frequency inverter from Omron saves energy and is particularly suitable for applications such as filling and press control or voltage regulation.

With the new RX2 high-performance frequency inverter, Omron aims to meet the changing requirements of system integrators, machine builders and manufacturers. It is particularly suitable for applications such as filling and press control as well as voltage regulation with both permanent magnet (PM) and induction motors.

Large companies across Europe are currently examining how they can reduce their energy consumption. Every component and every production step is being closely scrutinized. Frequency inverters regulate the power frequency with which AC motors are fed and thus control the speed and acceleration of the motor. In this way, they help to ensure that all processes are carried out with the greatest possible efficiency.

Improved energy efficiency and easy replacement
The RX2 series features auto-tuning, which maximizes both the performance of the PM motor and energy efficiency. The double classification of the previous RX model for normal duty (ND) and heavy duty (HD) has now been upgraded to a triple classification. This makes the same inverter model suitable for a large number of motor applications - with minimum CO2 impact and maximum performance.

The RX2 series has the same mounting dimensions as its predecessor, the RX. This means that older models can be seamlessly replaced. The RX2 series also uses the CX-Drive software, which makes it easy to transfer parameters and programming from the old inverter to the new RX2.

Thanks to the integrated interference suppression filter, which meets all the requirements of the EU EMC Directive (IEC61800-3 2nd environmental category C3 and UL conversion devices/UL61800-5-1), no additional interference suppression hardware needs to be purchased. This allows companies to avoid additional costs. The new LCD color display enables intuitive and simple setup and operation. Once parameters have been set, they can be transferred to other RX2 inverters using a simple copy function. The RX2 inverter also performs simple sequence control, which is programmed via the CX-Drive support software.

Optimized costs, safety and networking
Crane and tension control, as well as other large-scale processes that require fast control speeds, can be configured without a PLC, saving further costs. In addition, the RX2 has Safe Torque Off (STO) as standard to meet the safety requirements of the machine. It is certified to IEC 61800-5-2:2016 STO SIL3 and ISO 13849-1:2015 Cat.4 PLe safety standards. In addition, the RX2 inverters can be connected to Omron's NX/NJ machine automation controllers to improve development and manufacturing productivity (soon also available with EtherCAT). as
