The DSC2 servomotors are the next generation for applications requiring high torque density. The low weight and minimal dimensions are the hallmarks of this series. Among other things, the overall length has been reduced, making the DSC2 even more compact with the same performance.

"Our development achieved an excellent combination of overall length and flexibility with maximum torque density. The efficiency of the motor increased to around 94 percent," reports Markus Keila, Senior Product Manager Motors at Baumüller.

Tailored to the respective area of application

As already known from the DSC1 product family, the DSC2 motors are scalable and adaptable to customer requirements. They cover a speed range from 1,000 to 5,000 revolutions per minute. Numerous encoder options, cooling variants, optional brakes, various coordinated gearbox variants and many other options also ensure that the DSC2 is perfectly matched to the respective area of application. According to the manufacturer, the engine also has a lowCO2 footprint; this results from the reduced use of materials due to the compact design.

A variant of the DSC2 motor is particularly suitable for applications with low speeds and high torque requirements. Compared to other servo motors on the market, the DSC2 motor is up to 15 percent more compact.
