Sigmatek expands its Asian business with sales partner Sumitomo
Sumitomo Heavy Industries, part of the Japanese Sumitomo Group, is now distributing the complete range of automation systems from Sigmatek in the Land of the Rising Sun. Together with the new partner, the Austrian manufacturer is further expanding its Asian business.
"Alongside China, the USA and Germany, Japan is one of the largest OEM and mechanical engineering markets in the world. Our modern, integrated and compact automation solutions are a perfect fit for the demanding and growing Japanese series machine construction market. We are pleased and proud to have gained a renowned and technically experienced sales partner in Sumitomo Heavy Industries. Sumitomo is a well-known company in Japan with highly qualified technical staff," says Alexander Melkus, Managing Director Sales and Development Sigmatek.
Sumitomo Heavy Industries, headquartered in Tokyo, a metropolis of 9.5 million people, is a long-established company in Japan that is active in many industrial sectors and enjoys an excellent reputation and great trust in the market.
"With Sumitomo, we have a local and extremely competent partner for Japanese industrial customers, who has an excellent sales network with direct access to many well-known mechanical engineering companies," says Markus Deixler, International Sales Director Sigmatek.
Due to the special demographic situation, Japanese companies will make above-average investments in the automation of machines and systems in the coming years and decades. Considerable growth can be expected in the robotics and AGV sectors in particular.
The two partners are jointly pursuing a long-term strategy of working intensively with Japanese machine builders to further improve their national and global competitiveness through the use of high-quality, space- and cost-saving automation solutions and to establish Sigmatek as a strong brand for "Smart Machine Automation" in the Japanese market.
