New functions for Simatic controllers
Siemens is delivering new functions for Simatic controllers with two firmware updates.
The Simatic S7-1500 firmware V2.8 offers cross-device options for data integration and diagnostic functions. The Simatic S7-1200 firmware V4.4 extends the communication functions and improves cross-device data transfer.
With firmware V2.8 of the Simatic S7-1500 CPUs, the controllers can now also be accessed externally via different IP networks. Sensitive e-mail data is protected and transmitted in encrypted form via secure e-mails with file attachments. A web server ensures simple and secure data integration. The Simatic S7-1200 firmware improves connectivity with new communication functions. OPC UA Data Acess as a server enables standardized horizontal and vertical communication as well as compliance with industry-specific standards.
