Jörg Theis becomes new head of B&R
ABB has appointed Jörg Theis as Head of the Machine Automation Division (B&R). As of April 1, he will take over from Clemens Sager, who has headed the division on an interim basis since January 1, 2021.
Theis has been with ABB for 23 years. He has extensive experience in process and factory automation with a focus on developing digital service offerings, including in the consumer goods, pharmaceutical, food and beverage, hybrid and automotive industries. Theis has lived and worked in both Europe and Asia and was most recently Head of ABB's Process Automation Division for Energy Industries in Singapore. He will relocate from Singapore to Eggelsberg, the location of B&R 's corporate headquarters in Austria.

Theis holds a degree in chemical engineering from Aachen University of Applied Sciences. He is a German citizen, married and has two children.
