Chain tensioner
For workpieces with irregular contours
Heinrich Kipp Werk has expanded its range to include chain clamps, which ensure secure clamping and fixing of workpieces with complex contours and shapes, particularly in mechanical and plant engineering. Special clamping devices are therefore no longer necessary. Kipp offers chain tensioner sets in two different sizes, which can be flexibly supplemented.
Chain clamping offers numerous advantages - for example, the even distribution of force enables comparatively distortion-free clamping. Plastic elements ensure that the workpieces are protected. Users also benefit from a large adjustment range and high clamping force. The chain clamps are mounted on the machine tool or on a clamping plate using fastening screws and T-nuts.
Two chain tensioner versions are available from Kipp, each containing tensioning hooks, counterholders, four roller chains, four locking links, six plastic elements and a locking set for tensioning chains. The two different versions differ in terms of the chain lengths and sizes of the chain links, which can generate different tensioning forces of 15 kN or 40 kN. Roller chains are also available separately in other lengths so that users can react flexibly to a wide range of workpiece diameters and shapes. They impress with low chain elongation due to the pre-tensioning.
Turnbuckles are also available, the use of which is recommended from a chain length of three meters. These are installed between the chains by means of two locking links and thus enable optimum pre-tensioning of the chain.
Kipp also has 120° prisms in its range, which can be flexibly positioned on the machine table. If required, the prisms can also be precisely aligned using a sliding block.
