Kasto Miwin
Kasto launches new family of saws
Kasto has a new saw series in its range: the Kasto Miwin, a double mitre bandsaw for cross-cuts and mitre cuts between minus 45 and 60 degrees.
The new saw is initially available as a semi-automatic U 4.6 and automatic A 4.6 version and is designed for cutting in steel construction, the steel trade, plant engineering and special machine construction.
The new saw has an electric saw feed drive by means of a ball screw. In the A version, a rack and pinion drive also provides the material feed. The single stroke of the material feed on the A variant is 3,000 millimetres. Kasto counteracts inaccuracies in the cut-off lengths by cleverly positioning the clamping vice: This always fixes the material at right angles to the direction of material flow. This enables the sawing specialist to achieve mitre and cut-off length accuracies corresponding to the 'fine' tolerance class.
Depending on the material profile, the clamping range of the new band saw is up to 460 millimetres. The smallest dimension to be sawn is ten by ten millimetres. In single cut mode, the Miwin leaves a remnant of 30 millimeters. In automatic mode, the offcut length increases to 200 millimetres for 90-degree cuts. The user can continuously adjust the cutting speed from twelve to 150 meters per minute. The Achern developers have designed the saw in such a way that no wear can occur due to sawing into the material support table. Nevertheless, the cut-offs are positioned directly behind the saw blade. The material support height is 700 millimeters.
