Titanium powder for 3D printing
Taniobis and Alloyed cooperate
Taniobis announces its cooperation with Alloyed. The two companies will work together in the development, production and application of innovative titanium alloy powders.
The aim is to use high-quality powders for advanced manufacturing applications, particularly additive manufacturing. Taniobis and Alloyed complement each other in their objectives and capabilities. The Oxford-based company Alloyed offers technologies for the design and optimization of alloys as well as digital manufacturing applications. Taniobis, the newest member of the Japanese JX Metal Group, has more than 60 years of experience in high-quality materials, powders and alloys based on tantalum and niobium, which form the basis for many products in our everyday lives. After JX Metals acquired shares in Alloyed in January 2020, the cooperation between Alloyed and Taniobis intensified.
Alloyed and Taniobis are working together to develop and analyze new titanium and refractory alloys that open up new possibilities in material composition for additive manufacturing. The alliance aims to provide an end-to-end solution for the material development process, including material analysis and qualification, material production and single part design as well as pre-series production. The companies are working on a wide range of projects - some of them with third-party providers for applications in medicine, aviation and e-mobility.
"Alloyed is looking forward to working with Taniobis and driving innovation with new alloys for additive manufacturing," said Michael Holmes, Managing Director at Alloyed.
Katarzyna Kosowski, Head of Corporate Business Development & Communication at Taniobis, adds: "The cooperation will create synergies that will benefit our customers in many ways. Among other things, when it comes to offering end-to-end solutions for new and advanced applications with metal technologies for additive manufacturing. Working with the experts at Alloyed and their ABD platform expands our reach and we gain capabilities in new and innovative areas of additive manufacturing. While the opportunities offered by additive manufacturing are well documented, the primary goal remains to unlock new materials for additive manufacturing."
Alloyed and Taniobis will be present together at the Formnext Connect virtual event from November 10-12.
