Smart Camera supports product changes
B&R is expanding its integrated vision system with a smart camera that links a wide range of image processing tasks simply and in real time.
This enables process-controlled processing chains that can only be realized with great effort using standard smart cameras. For example, if different product versions are manufactured on a machine at the same time, the smart camera can check which version it is and whether the packaging print is correct with just one image. One function provides the necessary feedback for downstream functions. As the control system's process variables are seamlessly integrated into these processes, decisions can be derived from them in real time. These processing chains can be extended almost indefinitely.
Solve complex tasks in just a few minutes
The application creator simply wires the individual image processing functions of the Smart Camera virtually in a graphical editor. Time-consuming programming work is not necessary. Thanks to the complete integration into the B&R system, even complex tasks can be linked within a few minutes and synchronized with the sequences of a controller, for example for a picking robot that picks up the product and sorts it into a box.
The Smart Camera has the same hardware options as the Smart Sensor from B&R. Various integrated lenses or a housing variant with a standard C-mount thread are available. The other options include various integrated lighting, FPGA image pre-processing and image sensors from 1.3 to 5.3 megapixels.
