At the end of June 2021, the founder and CEO of Isra Vision, Enis Ersü, will retire from operational life. As part of his succession planning, Isra has entered into a strategic partnership with the Swedish industrial group Atlas Copco, forming the core of the new Machine Vision Solutions division. With a new, powerful management team, the course is now being set for further successful business development.

With the traditional ground-breaking ceremony for the new company headquarters, Isra Vision lays the foundation for further growth at its headquarters in Darmstadt. On the site located in the "Knell" urban development area with the characteristic water tower on Frankfurter Strasse, three connected buildings with offices, development laboratories and a demo and assembly hall are being built in two construction phases on a site area of approx. 15,000 m².

The new building has been generously designed by Darmstadt-based architects fs Architekten to accommodate Isra Vision's future development and the steadily growing number of employees. The building, designed to meet high energy standards, will gradually grow with the company and will provide space for around 960 workstations when completed.

At the start of construction, special thanks go to Darmstadt's Lord Mayor Jochen Partsch and the city of Darmstadt, who actively supported the search for a suitable location. Company founder Enis Ersü, who only recently retired from operational life, set the course for the new headquarters several years ago. The globally operating Atlas Copco Group joined Isra Vision as a strategic partner in 2020 and at the same time adhered to the plans for the new building, which was designed for growth and an increase in employees.

With the help of Felix Schneider from Gerhard.Architekten in Darmstadt and Horst Ulrich Werb for Schindler & Werb AG, the preparatory work was carried out to lay the foundation stone for the new building together with the commissioned planners and craftsmen.

The new CEO of Isra Vision, Tomas Lundin, ex-CEO and company founder Enis Ersü and Chief Financial Officer Martin Heinrich joined Lord Mayor Jochen Partsch for the ground-breaking ceremony. The start of construction for the new headquarters not only opens a new chapter in the company's eventful history, but is also a strong sign of the company's local ties. Isra Vision was founded in 1985 as a spin-off from the Technical University. Today, the steadily growing company and its subsidiaries are world leaders in the surface inspection of web materials. It is also one of the world's leading providers of image processing (machine vision), specializing in the field of 3D machine vision, in particular "3D robot vision". The up-and-coming company has big plans for its new strategic partner Atlas Copco. The ground-breaking ceremony can therefore be seen as a signal for the start of a promising and successful future.

As a global player, Isra feels it is in good hands in Darmstadt. For many years, close relationships have been maintained with the TU Darmstadt, Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences and various research institutes such as the Fraunhofer Institute. With the ground-breaking ceremony, Isra Vision is positioning itself as an employer with excellent future prospects in the region and creating the best conditions for promoting young talent. Numerous additional jobs are to be created at the new site: In addition to trained specialists, the company is particularly looking for young talent. In addition, there are also plans for start-ups with a technological focus that matches Isra Vision to find space on the site and develop accordingly.

The new headquarters will create an inspiring working environment for employees that is in line with ecological challenges and corporate values. The headquarters, which has been planned with ecological aspects in mind, will also be built sustainably in accordance with the 55 efficiency house standard. Great importance was also attached to a high proportion of green outdoor areas, e-charging structures for bicycles and cars on the company premises and quiet, clean assembly technology. Completion of the first construction phase and the move into the new headquarters are planned for the turn of the year 2022/2023.
